Three months travelling Thailand > New Zealand > Seattle > Canada

A very quick update

Published by Matthew J. Ward | Filed under Travelling, New Zealand

Hello all, we are in to the last week in NZ and it has been really great. Last week we started work with CVNZ (Conservation Volunteers New Zealand) It has been hard work so far! We are currently in a small team of only 4 people all from the Uk and one is from S-O-T which is pretty cool. We have mainly been involved in planting trees and so far i would estimate that we have planted in excess of 1500 plants and trees. As well as tree planting we have been doing maintenance work such as mulching and weeding (on a large scale). Its being a free weekend for us this weekend and have just got back from the museum in Auckland. The weather has been good to us but we have had some unsettled weather here too! Tomorrow we leave to go to a conservation site called Mount Bruce which is an hour outside of Wellington, to do some work in a wildlife reserve. It promises to be a good week, but it will take an 8 hour drive to get us there so only 3 days of work which sucks a little…..Better rap things up now, will next update in Seattle with pictures. Hope everybody back home is well and those of you from work aren’t working too hard (as if it would happen! :-) ) I’m now starting to think of the next leg (the USA and Canada) which for me was going to be the highlight of the trip!!! Hope it lives up to it…. over and out!
